Describe a rule that you don’t like

  • What it is?

  • Why you don’t like it?

  • How did others feel about the rule?

  • And explain whether you’ve followed the rule?

No doubt, rules, and regulations play an important part to create a peaceful society. This is only possible if we all follow rules. Everything works perfectly with rules whether it is country or any workplace. The first place where a person has to follow rules is School and then College. Every school or College has many rules which are set for both staff and students. Here, I would like to talk about a rule which I don’t like.
It is about giving lots of homework to students. and In India, the majority of schools or colleges give too much homework to learners which puts an extra burden on students. so I don’t like this rule because it reduces students’ free time which they may spend to do some extra activities as well as pressurize them.
Many students and I are against this rule. I’ve always followed this rule, otherwise, there is a 50 rupees fine per subject. Fortunately, I haven’t broken the rule because I always try to maintain discipline. So this is the rule which I don’t like.

Q1. Why do schools need to make rules?
Answer- I believe schools make rules for the betterment of students and to maintain discipline. School is the place where children learn to become responsible. So I think these are some of the reasons why schools make rules.

Q2. Is it good to break the rules and regulations sometime?
Answer- Honestly speaking I do not think it is a good idea to break rules as it is a fact that rules are made for the betterment of society but yes In some cases like emergencies for example if to save someone’s life we have to break some rules then I think it’s fine.

Q3. Do you think it is important to wear school uniforms for children?
Answer- yes of course I do believe that wearing uniforms for school-going kids is crucial because if students are allowed to wear clothes they want then it will have many detrimental effects. For example, if there is a rich kid in school then definitely he will wear branded clothes. On the other hand children from poor families, Will have to wear simple clothes so I think it may have bad consequences. So having a proper dress code for school-going kids is necessary.

Well, I believe that rules are made for the betterment of society but there are some sets of rules which I do not like. Today I would like to talk about one of those rules which irritates me but still for my safety and for the safety of others I follow that rule. As it is obvious that coronavirus cases are on the rise, wearing masks and keeping 6 feet distance from each other is mandatory for each and every individual not only in my country India but in the whole world.

Although it is beneficial for everyone, still I do not like this rule because wearing a mask all the time whenever we got unfordable and still I do not like this rule because wearing a mask all the time whenever we go out isn’t comfortable and it irritates me which is the main reason why I do not like this rule. Apart from this as I am an extrovert person so whenever I try to communicate with others It becomes hard for me to communicate properly because when the mask is on then we can’t see the facial gestures of the other person which are crucial to start any conversation. And I think everyone can relate to this because I have seen almost all the people are facing the same problems as I am.

Despite all these aforementioned reasons I can never deny the fact that during this corona pandemic The rule of wearing masks and maintaining 6 feet distance is saving lives. And if I do not like this rule that doesn’t mean I do not follow this rule. Hence wearing a mask is the rule which I do not like.

Well, rules are part and parcel of human beings’ life which assist to maintain the decorum or for the welfare of the community but still, certain rules are akin to nuisance. Here, I’m going to talk about one such rule that I detest which is enforced by the majority of hospitals in my country on patients to pay up before treatment. This rule is abhorred by almost everyone especially by destitute and mediocre families because it is a hard nut to crack for them to garner a hefty sum of money at the drop of a hat.

I also followed this rule countless times because it is obligatory otherwise doctors don’t diagnose and treat patients. I vividly remember an incident which filled me with despise for this rule it is a matter of last year when I went to see my uncle who was admitted to the city hospital meanwhile, a family rushed to the hospital to admit their son who met with a major accident and was in severe condition but the hospital staff was not initiating his treatment because they did not have enough money. That family was pleading there however their all efforts went down the drain. Even though I felt extremely bad for them and fit my feet in their shoes, I was not capable to assist them financially. so I thought outside the box and discussed this matter with my bosom friend whose father is a doctor by profession.

Therefore, on my crony’s father’s recommendation that boy got treatment and his life was saved. They all were grateful to me and I got inner bliss. I reckon that people should join hands to remove such kinds of rules which are not less than a scar on the face of humanity.

Rules and laws are necessary for well-being and good governance. But sometimes, some rules are so crummy, it annoys us. Here I am going to talk about the rule of multiplexes in which individuals are not allowed to carry any eatable things or even a water bottle in theatres when they go for watching movies. I’m very fond of watching movies so I often visit there. All things are very good about cinemas but the thing that I dislike the most is restrictions on carrying eatable things.

I think that the main reason behind it is to sell food at higher prices to increase profit. so I don’t have any objection to buying eatable items from there, but the thing which disturbs me is that they charged 3 to 4 times more than the normal price which is inconvenient for me. unfortunately, It is a complete swindle Maybe, it does not affect rich people but it matters a lot for a middle-class person like me. moreover, I also have to follow this rule because I have no other option But I avoid eating anything over there.

As I often visit there, people also don’t like this thing because they have to spend extra money. I also have to follow this rule because I have no other option But I avoid eating anything over there. As I often visit there, people also don’t like this thing because they have to spend extra money. I think that there should be an allowance for taking fewer eatable items so people can happily enjoy the movie. So this is the rule that I don’t like.

One rule that I dislike is the rule of selecting the academic stream based on good marks in the board examinations. One thing is that when students give board exams they are very young and innocent and they do not know much about the different academic fields. If someone does not get proper guidance then his/her entire career will be ruined and that person will enter the wrong field. Why should we decide when we are so inexperienced and that too on the basis of marks.

I have strong reasons why I do not like this rule. I feel that a student may have an inclination and aptitude towards a field of study. therefore should get admitted in the stream of choice. If I like psychology but I cannot pursue a career in psychology because I do not get good marks in that subject is unfair, not only to me but also to society at large. It is possible that something went wrong during the exam and so I could not perform well.
Getting good marks to prove myself is a test of my memory and not a test of my knowledge and skills. I believe that every examination system should be based on what the student likes to do. Only then we will have real professionals who will turn into passionate experts and who will do their job very well. I have discussed this with many of my friends and most of them hate this system. So, I feel that others also do not like this rule.

No doubt, I have lots of precious memories of school and those days were the best ever for me. However, today I would like to describe a rule which I dislike. It was about allowing cell phones to secondary school students. After entering secondary school, I came to know that cell phones are compulsory for all learners.
To be honest, it was really shocking moment for me as it may have negative outcomes on students’ educational performance. Not only, I was against this rule, but also a few of my friends were not in the favour of this rule. Moreover, We all friends talked with the head of the school regarding this rule. he told us that it is useful for students to do assignment work
Also, he suggested I and others bring smartphones, otherwise, we have to pay a fine. On the very first day of secondary school, I violated the rule because I didn’t have a mobile phone. Forcingly, I have to buy a new smartphone to avoid penalty. Instead of spending free time on extra studies, the majority of learners used to do surfing on social media and playing games
