Introduction
There is no denying this conviction that shoes are an integral part of our attire, and their variety has enhanced considerably in the past two decades. Due to this reason, when people leave their homes, they wear shoes, sandals, slippers etc., for two reasons. Firstly, to glorify their personality and to protect their feet from excessive heat, cold, dirt, etc.
Being a fashion enthusiast, I wear shoes; however, sometimes, it is not feasible. Recently I had such an instance which is worth mentioning.
When was it? And Where was it?
Last year, the result of my 12th standard came, and after hearing it, I was on cloud nine because I passed it with flying colours. For my spectacular success, I wanted to thank the almighty, and I went to Amritsar Golden Temple to seek blessings over there; I had to stay in the queue for long hours.
Why did you walk without shoes?
Golden Temple is a pious place in the Sikh religion, and the devotees must remove their shoes before entering it.
How did you feel about it?
In the beginning, I felt uncomfortable because the temperature was cold. But later on, I started enjoying it because there were a lot of devotees like me, and we started discussing the importance of the Golden Temple as a sacred place in our lives.
I stood there without shoes for four hours due to a great rush of devotees because of the weekend. But I enjoyed it as I got busy listening to the teachings of the Holy Guru Granth Sahib while standing in the queue.
