Well, I come from a diverse country, India. There are several important lakes and rivers in my nation. Here, I’m going to talk about a lake which is very beautiful. Its name is Sukhna lake. It is located in Chandigarh which is the capital of Punjab and Haryana state. It is spread over 3 km2(square) and it was built in 1958. Moreover, I came to know about this lake when I was in school.
During my senior secondary education, I came to know about Sukhna lake from my history book. In addition, I’ve also visited there many times in the past few years. Moving further, there are various things about the lake that impress me. There is a jogging track to walk and enjoy a serene environment. Also, there are ducks in the lake to increase the beauty.
As well as, there is also a member ship-based lake club with lawns, a swimming pool, indoor games, a tennis court, and so on. People can also enjoy boating throughout the year. To add it more, Sukhna lake is also known for its many festivals and celebrations. One of the popular festivals is the Mango festival which is held during monsoons when a variety of mangoes are on display. So, this is a beautiful lake in India.
India is famous for its scenic beauty and there are many rivers flowing in it. Today, I am going to talk about the most significant river which fascinated me a lot that is the river Ganga. I vividly remember when I was in school, geography subject, I learned about it the first time. But in Geography class, I learned only basic information about Indian rivers. I learned more about it with the help of mass media and electronic media as I grew up.
Honestly, I do not have intensive knowledge about the Ganga river, but still, I can say that I know quite a lot about it. It comes out of the Himalayas from glaciers and falls in the Bengal. I read on the internet, it gets water from glaciers as well as from the rain during the monsoon season. I find it quite impressive due to certain reasons, first of all, its length impressed me a lot. I do not know the exact length of it but, it is the longest river in the world.
Many people rely on it for their livelihood. Farmers use its water for agriculture and people also do fishing in this river. it is considered sacred and many Hindu festivals are organized on the banks of the river. Last but not least, it is well-known for its religious value, especially in Hinduism, In the end, I have heard that Indian people believe one dip in the river Ganga can wash away all their sins.

1. Why do many people like going to places with water such as lakes, rivers, or seas?
People like to go to such places because they can do various activities there and have a fun time.. They can do swimming, boating, rafting, surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving and so on. Moreover, India has a long coastline. People can find such places easily and so these places have become important tourist destinations..
2. What kinds of leisure activities do people like to do in water places?
They can do swimming, boating, rafting, surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving, and so on.
3. Do children and old people relax in the same ways when they go to the beach?
No, they relax in different ways as their age allows them. The elderly just sit there and watch their children and grandchildren play with the waves. Children run around the beach, play beach volleyball, swim, splash in the water and relax by sweating out their energy.
4. Why do people like water sports?
People like water sports because they are fun, especially during the long summer months. for people who don’t live near the coastal areas or any other water bodies, such places are a change and so they are fun and exciting.
5. Do you think the beach or seaside is more suitable for children or old people to spend their leisure time at?
Yes, it is. However, they should refrain from going near water during high tide. Beaches, where a lot of people are there, are relatively safer than those which are isolated.
6. Is there much water transportation in your country?
I live in the north of India. There is no water transportation here, but as you go south, there is a long coastline where water transportation is very common.
7. Do people travel by boat in your country?
People living in coastal areas do travel by boat for short distances.
8. How important is water in daily life?
Water is the very essence of life. It is as simple as-no water, no life. That is why when space exploration is done, the first thing to see is signs of water. Otherwise, no life is possible there.
9. How important are rivers and lakes to the cities where they are located?
Water bodies are very important. They are a source of livelihood for fishermen. These water bodies attract tourists who in turn boost the economy of these places.
10. Do the rivers in your country suffer from serious pollution?
Yes, pollution of these water bodies is a big issue. That is why the government of India has launched a massive campaign to save the river Ganges.
11. Do you think human activity is posing a threat to oceans globally?
Yes, definitely. People are dumping their waste in these oceans. Industries are dumping untreated effluents in oceans. Then there are oil-spills from time to time.

First of all, I want to tell you that I am a nature lover. I always like to spend time on my weekends near lakes, rivers also hills; however, in my town, there is no water body but in my country INDIA there are too many and today I will talk about my favorite water place. That is a lake and its name is Sukhna Lake which is situated in Chandigarh.The rock garden is also near of it. That is my heart-touching place where I feel relaxed.
I remember that when I crossed my teenager at that recorded with Top Screen Recordertime my father gave a surprise to go there. When I reached them I was on I the top of the world because it
was my first experience. Secondly, my friends also praised that place. In addition, there I made friends with new friends whose nature is too good. With whom I do swimming and boating there and also clicked pictures. In the end, we enjoy

Well, India is a diverse country and there are numerous states available. Each and every state has its own significance in terms of culture and tradition. Here I would like to talk about one important lake that is located in my state “Punjab” The name of that lake is “sukhna lake” and it is situated in the capital of Punjab Chandigarh. It is an important part of Chandigarh that adds its beauty. Actually, I came to know about this lake when I was in 7th standard. Because at that time, my school had organized a trip to Chandigarh. If I talk about nowadays whenever my family organizes a trip to Chandigarh, I love to visit there. There is an arrangement for boating and last time my siblings and I enjoyed boating and we also took some photographs there. There is also an arrangement for breakfast, dinner, and lunch. A number of shops are situated on the edge of the lake.
I am impressed by this lake because it is a pollution-free area and one can get relief from stressful life by visiting there. It also enhances the beauty of the Chandigarh. So, this is the lake that I know and like the most.

Introduction.
India is a land of lakes and rivers being an agricultural country many people depend on rivers for agriculture. Some rivers are holy rivers and they carry religious importance. In ancient scriptures rivers like Ganga, Yamuna, Narmada, Sindhu, and Kaveri have been given significant importance.
Here I am going to talk about a river in my hometown.
Which water body is that?
This is a very important water body in my state Gujarat. It’s called river Sabarmati. It flows from the important city Ahmedabad and a lot of development is done here on the bank.
How do you know about it?
Everyone in my state is known to river Sabarmati as it holds religious and spiritual importance. It is also one of the most important rivers in my state so I have studied about it in my school days.
Why does it impress you so much?
As this river flows from the main city Ahmedabad a riverfront is developed and it looks spectacular. It is a place where we find hordes of tourists. The government encourages people to visit this place by celebrating important festivals here like kite flying and many important events are held here. People of the city come here regularly for a walk and exercise. I got impressed when the Chinese President visited and this place received a lot of media coverage.

India, my country, is not only very large but also a very beautiful country, no matter where you go. But, it looks even more er beautiful with so many stunning rivers and lakes all over the country, and today, I would like to talk about one such lovely lake that I really like. The lake I am talking about is “Wular Lake”. Being situated in the state of Jammu & Kashmir, this lake undoubtedly is one of the most beautiful lakes in India. It also happens to be one of the largest freshwater lakes in Asia whose surface area can vary from 30 to 260 square kilometers, depending on the season.
Being fed by the water of the Jhelum River, the lake becomes so clear sometimes that you could actually see till deep below. The er mesmerizing beauty of this lake hasn’t only invited children to play there but also drawn many writers as well as travelers to camp along its gorgeous-looking banks. Besides, the water of this lake sometimes is clear that families nearby use the water from there to cook their food.
By the way, on each side of the lake, there is a fantastic garden park, high on a hill, from where one can have a stunning and er mesmerizing view of the lake. The lake is embraced by majestic mountain sites as if they are trying to protect the beautiful lake from all kinds of harm.
I like this lake, primarily because it makes me feel so much closer to nature unlike anything else. Besides, I find this lake to be not only so huge but also very mysterious in an indescribable way, that draws me so close to it, every time I visit it. Finally, I like it also because it is so calm, yet so beautiful.

Today, I am going to talk about an important river of my country and the name of the river is the Yamuna.
It is the major river of Northern India, primarily in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh states. It is one of the country’s most sacred rivers. Actually, in my childhood, my father used to tell me about the history of rivers in India, and also I searched on the Internet about all rivers.

Many pictures of the Taj Mahal have been taken along with the Yamuna river and it is the best spot for clicking pictures in the evening time.

An interesting and important waterbody in my country which I wish to talk about
today is a river and its name is the Indus river. This river impresses me a lot due to one special characteristic. It originates from Tibet and flows through four provinces in Asia; India, Pakistan, and China. All these countries are sharing the water of the Indus river. This is very unique and fascinating to know. In my country, this river is in the extreme North. It is also called the Himalayan river and in ancient times it was called the Sindhu river. I came to know about this river in my History and Geography classes in school and since my childhood, this river has intrigued me a lot. I have also studied the Indus Valley Civilization and that interests me a lot as well. Rivers are an important part of my country because my country India, is an agricultural country and therefore rivers are the backbone of food production. India is also surrounded by water from three sides. Many rivers like Ganga and Narmada are connected with the religious beliefs of people in my country.

I’d have to admit that when I read this topic my heart sank because I’m not familiar with rivers or lakes in my country so I’m really sorry for the lack of ideas about this particular topic but I could talk about a lake called Sukhna lake which is located in the beautiful city called Chandigarh.
If I’m not mistaken, this lake comes from the Shivalik hills and the depth of this lake would be roughly 8-10 ft so one can easily swim in it. One of the major reasons why this lake is important is that it’s a tourist hotspot, especially on weekends. I’ve also taken a notice of this place where people go there to recharge their batteries with their family members.
How do I know about this lake? well, I’m not entirely sure when did I hear about this lake for the first time but I guess it was a few years back when I have been on a trip to Sukhna lake. Visiting Sukhna Lake might be a normal experience for you but speaking for myself, when I saw this for the first time, it had a view to die for.
I’m fascinated by loads of things at Sukhna lakes such as boating, and ducks, and it’s the best lake for bird watchers. It’s certainly the most famous lake in Punjab. In answer to the question, how does it impress me so much, well, The lake turns absolutely breathtaking during the time of sunrise and sunset when the water mirrors the various hues of the sky and that’s really appealing to me.
